Mutants: Genetic Gladiators PC combines two game modes, with the option of creating Gladiators and the battle mode based on powers and strength of their characters.
Despite relying on a visual and a pleasant enough, the game complicates things a bit too much the function of creating characters, with excess items and features that just adds to the game.
For example, in addition to choosing the fighters that will be used in the genetic experiment, you must pay the lab, use an accelerator to make your creature grow and request a stabilizer for the monster doesn’t have a deformity due to the mutation of genes.
All this is quite complicated, with many clicks, and demand a time for training of your team. This can be a serious problem especially since there is no Portuguese version of the game, and these steps require the reading of instructions and items on the screen.
Campaigns already battles are a little easier to be assimilated even without the knowledge of the foreign language. Is it possible to learn to attack opponents with only the strength numbers indicated in each character.
The fight is the best aspect of the game, with good graphics and great sound effects, plus fun effects in every attack of the Gladiators. There’s not a lot of action, nor many clicks or commands to be performed, and you need only establish a strategy to decide which launch fighter against the enemies.
It may seem, however, that the battles are somewhat short and quick. Every stroke made 25% energy withdraws opponent, which means that in a few attacks, you may have defeated the enemy.
The biggest problem with the fight mode is that, after the first innings, you’re basically forced to invite your friends to join with you fighting. You need to send invitations to gain powers and special abilities, and without them it couldn’t advance in the game.
